The Harlem Repertory Theatre, in partnership with the YIP Harburg Foundation, brings this legendary Broadway treasure back to life! JAMAICA, the musical that made Lena Horne a Broadway star. JAMACIA features a book and score by Yip Harburg and Harold Arlen, the two creative geniuses who created FINIAN’S RAINBOW and THE WIZARD OF OZ! The production’s creative, environmental setting, combined with surprising sets and colorful costumes will bring this forgotten treasure back to New York City for the first time since its 1957 opening on Broadway six decades ago.

The music is by Harold Arlen who wrote the iconic score for THE WIZARD OF OZ. Fred Saidy and Yip Harburg who gave us the masterpiece, FINIAN’S RAINBOW created book (Saidy) and lyrics (Harburg) for JAMAICA.
